After Restalyne Injections

Restalyne is more correctly known as Restylane, an injectable facial filler product registered with HA North American Product AB.  Restalyne is a hyaluronic acid product.  Hyaluronic acid (also called hyaluronan or hyaluronate) is chemically a glycosaminoglycan and is a naturally occurring substance distributed widely in the body in the extracellular matrix, providing support to the tissues.  Restalyne has been modified slightly chemically so that after injection into the tissues, it will last longer in the body.  Because Restalyne is basically a hyaluronic acid, it is considered harmless to the human body, and over time (usually up to about 6 months), the injected Restalyne is absorbed into the system without any side effects.

Usage of Restalyne

As you age, you will find that there is loss of volume of the underlying layer of the skin, and this is most visible in the face, as the face is usually the most exposed part of the body.  Added to this is the effect of laxity of the muscles, especially of the face, and gravity, which pulls the lax skin downward.  The result of both of these factors, aided possibly by drinking, smoking, late nights, too much sun and poor nutrition comes out in the form of wrinkles and folds on the face and other parts of the body.

As we mentioned earlier, the face is the most seen part of the body, and it is this region that most people will worry about.  Nobody wants to look old, and if there were a way of reversing the process, it would be in great demand.

Thus we find on the face wrinkles, creases and folds which make one look older.  Wrinkles are of two major varieties, the first type known as dynamic wrinkles caused by excessive muscle activity on the face, and which disappear on relaxing the muscles (such as frown lines, crows feet and forehead lines, and which are treated better with a muscle relaxant known as Botox.   The second type are referred to as static wrinkles, and are more related to age and the end result of excessive muscle activity (which causes a permanent crease in the face that does not disappear with relaxation of muscle), as well as the factors mentioned in an earlier paragraph.

It is these static wrinkles, creases and folds that are easily correctable by the injection of Restalyne, one of the more well-known of facial injections.

Restalyne Injections

Practically everybody who has static wrinkles, creases and folds can be treated with Restalyne injections.  These Restalyne injections are normally done under some topical anesthesia (usually by application of a local anesthetic gel), and the procedure does not take longer than an hour, depending on the area treated. The effect is immediate and amazing.  Taken away immediately are 10 - 15 years from your face. The Restalyne injection procedure is called a lunchtime procedure.  You go for a lunchbreak, you visit your doctor, you have your Restalyne injections, and you go back to work after your break, looking years younger.  Everybody at work and at home will be amazed by how young you look suddenly.  It is not surprising that this procedure works wonders for relationships as well.

One must note however that you look younger only for a period of 6 months. The Restalyne that is injected is gradually absorbed and by the end of the 6 months (a period of youth which you definitely would have enjoyed), should you want to continue looking younger, you will want to visit your doctor again for a repeat of your Restalyne injections.
